Emerald the Leopard

Posted on May 9, 2018 | 0 comments

New painting entitled “Emerald”. Size 24 x 30 inches, acrylic on canvas.

This painting is of an Amur Leopard named Emerald who I like to visit at the Sedgwick County Zoo. Amur Leopards are the most endangered of the big cats. Technically, they are classified as critically endangered with only around 100 living in the wild. They are also known as the Far East leopard, the Manchurian leopard, or the Korean leopard.

Tigress Natasha

Posted on Apr 22, 2018 | 0 comments

I just finished my new painting “Tigress”, 24 x 30 inches, acrylic on canvas. This painting is of a beautiful Amur Tiger named Natasha who I often visit at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, KS. Natasha was born at the zoo as a part of a breeding program to help preserve her species.

Amur Tigers are also known as Siberian Tigers, and they are an endangered species. There are only around 500 of them left living in the wild due to poaching.
