Labrador Retriever Print - Wanda

Labrador Retriever Print - Wanda

Giclee fine art print of my pop art dog painting entitled Perseverance of Wanda. This colorful dog themed art print is a portrait of a cute lab named Wanda.

Paper: Printed on thick 10mil matte fine art paper with archival pigment-based inks.
Size of Paper: 8.5" x 11" or 13" x 19"
Size of the image is slightly smaller than the paper size and varies by the dimensions of the original painting.

It is EASY to find a frame for this art print!! 8.5" x 11" or 13" x 19" frames can be found online and in stores like Hobby Lobby or Michael's. There is a thin white border around the image, so no matting is necessary. Simply place the paper print in the frame.

**About the Art**

This painting is as much about sweet doggie Wanda, a labrador retriever, as it is about the challenges I had to overcome when creating it. I added the word perseverance to the title because I painted the majority of this piece with my left hand (which is my nondominant hand).

I don’t share about my health issues too often; I prefer to focus on the positives rather than the negatives of life. But I have an autoimmune disorder and another condition called hypermobility syndrome that causes me to be predisposed to arthritis and tendinitis in my joints. I’ve struggled with arthritis in my hands and wrists, and tendinitis in my wrists for nearly a decade. About two weeks ago, right when I was beginning to paint Wanda, I started experiencing pain in my right bicep near the elbow. As it turns out, my doctor says I have tendinitis in yet another joint.

The diagnosis was disheartening. I shed a few tears as I imagined myself not being able to paint anymore, my dreams slipping away. Then the resilient (and slightly obstinate) part of myself kicked in. This part of myself always emerges when people say I can’t do something or when my body says I can’t do something. It’s like this part of my personality knows that I can – and I will.

And so, that’s what happened with this latest diagnosis. After a few days of being bummed, I came to the determined realization that I was going to have to become ambidextrous with painting. And this laid the foundation for “Perseverance of Wanda”.

Frequently Asked Questions

Print Packaging

I package my fine art prints in clear archival poly bags. Then, depending on the size, I either ship the print rolled securely in a tube or laying flat in a bubble pack envelope with rigid mat board supports. All orders are insured and will be replaced if damaged during shipping (but this rarely happens!).

Painting Packaging

I package my original paintings with extra care. Each painting is wrapped in wax paper, then a layer of foam wrap. After which, it is sandwiched between two sheets of cardboard and secured with tape. This cardboard/painting packet is then wrapped with bubble wrap. It is placed in a heavy duty cardboard box that has at least 2 inches of space around the painting where I add more bubble wrap and/or bubble bags. All orders are insured. I've shipped all over the world and never had a painting damaged in transit (knock on wood!), but if it were to happen, I could paint another similar piece to replace it or refund the order total.

Custom Pet Paintings

I am currently taking some time off from painting commissions due to tendinitis. Once I feel better I will start painting them again. Please subscribe to my email newsletter to be notified when I start back up!

Custom Print Sizes

I make each print as it is purchased. So, if you need a print with specific dimensions that I don't offer in my listings, I'm happy to provide a custom print that will fit your frame or wall space. Please message me to order. Prices will vary depending on size.
